Knights of Columbus honoring service members, veterans with new flagpole project

A new 40-foot flag pole will be erected at St. Mary Church in front of the bell tower that’s dedicated to all current service members as well as service veterans both living and deceased.

The St. Louis Guanella Council 3092 Knights of Columbus fundraising project will include two engraved granite plaques at the base of the flag pole.

For a $100 donation, all Chelsea area families are invited to have their current service member’s or veteran’s names, rank and service branch engraved on one of the two plaques.

If you would like to have your family member honored, please write down the information you’d like included for the engraving, make out a check payable to the K of C 3092 and put flag fund the memo line. Information and checks can be dropped off at St. Mary Church at 14200 E. Old US-12.

The deadline to be included on the first plaque is Aug. 31.

There will be another deadline for the second plaque.
