Letter to the Editor:  Correcting Facts Regarding Permission To Post Signs

Dear Editor:

I have read the letter sent to the editor regarding the events and accusations from the July 8th board meeting.

While I did not attend the meeting, I can provide factual information.

I live on the same private driveway that leads to 4 homes as Nanette Havens and granted permission to Bill Van Riper and Phillip Kwaske when asked to post their signs.

The signs were posted at the end of the private drive on my property line.

We are comfortable with helping ALL the candidates get as much visual attention as possible.

Almost immediately, Mr. Van Riper’s and Mr. Kwaske’s signs disappeared.  I reported the missing signs to the township clerk office.

New signs were posted and again they disappeared, I reported the signs missing to the township office a second time.

I was asked if a camera could be installed in the tree (on my property) to see what was happening, which I thought was an excellent idea.  Our neighbors on Dancer Road just had their side by side stolen from their yard and another home on Liberty also reported a theft.

Duane Luick’s sign is also at the end of the private road, on the opposite side, which as I said, we are fine with helping ALL the candidates get as much visual attention as possible.  To my knowledge, his sign has never gone missing.
