Letter to the Editor: Stop the Hate

Dear Editor:
On Friday night an email was sent to my Chelsea School Board campaign account with a flyer that was made to look like some school board candidates were supporting something considered controversial.

There was no additional information in the email other than the flyer and it looked like it came from a fake/anonymous account. It was easy enough to determine that the candidates mentioned in the flyer didn’t create it.

Then Saturday afternoon, I heard the flyer had been posted in town. It’s easy to see now that this flyer was created with the intent to encourage more division in our community and many have let it.

It is disgusting and completely unacceptable that someone would spend their time creating and posting this flyer.  Also, I don’t appreciate the implications coming from community members that I or other school board candidates had something to do with this.

It’s hateful, it creates more division, and it solves nothing.  Chelsea needs to do better and those that created this need to take a close look at themselves and their actions.  You are what is wrong with society today.

The candidates that I am supporting for school board (Ross Greenstein, Tom Golding, and John Piatt) along with myself, denounce the actions of this individual or group.

Their actions do not represent us, reflect our values, or how we want the community to interact with each other. We want better for this community and we hope you do, too.
