Letter to the Editor: Vote Bush, Emmert for school board

There was a concern by an individual about Board of Education candidate Laura Bush and her ability to be a member of the Chelsea School Board because her husband, Brad Bush, works for the school district.

Laura is a quality person and community member with sound judgment who would not have any conflict of interest in serving our school district. We have seven school board members for that very reason, and it takes a majority to make decisions. Not just one person.

In case you weren’t aware, current school member Jon Bentley’s wife works for the district and his sister does as well. Andy Ingall, our superintendent, his wife works for the district, too.

Both Jon and Andy have done a superb job at making decisions for our schools, which have not caused any conflicts of interest. The same would be true of Laura. We need quality people to help lead our school district.

Please support Laura Bush and Dana Emmert for Chelsea School Board on Tuesday.  It is imperative that we have people on the school board that are long time community members and understand what is best for our school system.  That is both Laura and Dana.
