Dear Editor:
With the primary election approaching on Aug. 6, we have an opportunity before us to help move our township into the future in the best possible way. I’m writing in support of two candidates on the ballot for the trustee positions on the Board.
Kurt Koseck is a current trustee, and has been a very consistent voice of reason over the last several years in an atmosphere that has been quite contentious at times. He is very thoughtful and does his due diligence on whatever is being discussed, asking pertinent questions and taking the comments from residents regarding their desires for the township into consideration. When some of our officials were pushing for high density development, spot zoning of industrial business in an Agricultural area and even marijuana businesses in our community, Mr. Koseck voted on the side of the Master Plan and the resident desires. This is what our township deserves.
Dan Russell is a business owner in the township and has been very involved over the last several years, attending Board and Planning Commission meetings regularly and offering relevant and unique insights into development and planning issues that have arisen in the township recently. He cares about the future of Sylvan Township and realizes that the board works for the residents, and that our voices matter.
Both of these individuals will be assets to the township as we continue our Master Plan work which will help shape the township appropriately going forward.
I’m confident that Sylvan Township will be in great hands with these two gentlemen on the Board. Early in person voting begins July 27 through Aug. 4, and Election Day is Aug. 6.
Please vote!
Renee Townsend
