(Publisher’s note: I’ve been a Pregitzer CSA member for many years and it’s been one of the best investments I’ve made in my health. I’ve incorporated new vegetables and fruits in my meals that I won’t have tried otherwise.)
Chelsea Wellness Center offered members not only their usual classes and workout and physical therapy activities on March 15, but also an opportunity to learn more about healthy foods during National Ag Day.
Representatives from Pregitzer Farm were on hand answering questions about the farm, healthy foods and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), where members assist farmers by paying for a subscription. In turn, farmers provide customers with a share of the farm’s harvest.
They provided information on “a day to recognize the abundance provided by agriculture. Every year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies and countless others across the America join together to recognize the contributions of agriculture.”
You can learn more about the Pregitzer CSA here and ask additional questions by calling 517-240-4600. One of the spots to pick-up a share during the season is at the Wednesday Bushel Basket Farmers Market in the Palmer lot.
