The Chelsea Lions will be hitting the streets for the service club’s annual Christmas candy giveaway-donation drive from Friday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 9.
Here’s what last year’s donations funded:
- Three Chelsea High School service awards.
- A Chelsea student’s travel and study overseas
- Several eye screenings and eyeglasses for several Chelsea residents who could not otherwise purchase them.
- 20 turkeys to Faith In Action
- Christmas gifts to a family sponsored by FIA
- Helped several Eagle Scouts finance their eagle projects
All donations collected by the Lions are used in the Chelsea community says Keith Bloomensaat, a club member.
