The Chelsea Area Garden Club will host its annual Spring Garden Treasures and Plant-a-Palooza, Saturday, May 17, 9-1 p.m. at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at South Main Street at Old US 12.
Potted perennial plants, tools, pots, books, furniture, and a large variety of other used garden goods will be available. The garden club will accept cash, checks, and credit card donations.
This fundraiser supports the CAGC community grants and scholarships. The 2025 Chelsea Area Garden Club grants awarded include
- The Intergenerational Garden, which supports IGG activities and learning opportunities that involve seniors and youth ages preschool through 5th grade.
- The Chelsea Community Garden to purchase tarps and fabric to cover 40 plots at the community garden and replace old and worn tools.
- Lyndon Township to replace invasive plants and shrubs with native shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers at its township hall.
Also, Girl Scout Troop 40693, which will continue its garden rejuvenation project at Pierce Park with deer resistant annuals and perennial gardens.

The garden club will also present four scholarships to Chelsea High School seniors on May 30 at the Honors Assembly.
Chelsea Area Garden Club was founded in 1997. Our objectives are to stimulate the love of gardening, to promote environmentally responsible horticultural practices, to assist in community beautification, and to encourage conservation practices through education, field trips, workshops, and demonstration.
