Stop by Paul’s Plant Starts to stock up on plant starts including strawberries, cabbage, cauliflower, and green kale. Paul Schaefer grows his plant starts at his homemade Scio Township hoop house. He will be at the Chelsea Wednesday market through the month of May.

Also for sale this week will be hanging flower baskets as well as herbs and perennial and annual plants.

Fresh baked goods including breads, cakes, and cookies will be available.

You’ll also find fresh beef and more.

The market runs from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. in the Chelsea State Bank parking lot, located at 1010 S. Main St., near the corner of Old US-12 and M-52.

There is a new regional (Chelsea, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge) food assistance program to help get healthy market food on the tables of those in need. It’s aimed at folks who don’t quite meet SNAP criteria. Be sure to inquire at the market.
