May 19: Lyndon Township planners to meet regarding sand mine

The Lyndon Township Planning Commission will hold a continuation meeting for a special land use request by McCoig Materials, Inc. on Monday, May 19 at the Washington Street Education Center auditorium.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

Planners are expected to ask questions of representatives from the company that would like to open a sand and gravel mining operation in the township.

McCoig Materials, Inc. has applied for a special land use permit to allow for the operation of a mine on properties on M-52 across from Green Lake currently zoned R-R, or rural residential.

The planning commission has changed the rules for public comment, reducing the time allowed for speakers to 3 minutes each.
