May 25: check out new vendor Awakened Provisions at Chelsea Farmers Markets

Palmer Commons, located at 222 South Main St., is a happening place every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. when the Chelsea Farmers Market is open for business.

This week, there will be asparagus, spinach, lettuce, radishes, rhubarb, a variety of plants, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, crafts, and much more for sale.

One of this season’s new vendors is Kelsey Rae, owner of Awakened Provisions. She is from Osseo, MI and is at both the Saturday and Wednesday farmers markets.

“I sell healthy, gluten free, high protein, low glycemic, organic products including tea, cookies, and shrub drinking vinegars in a variety of flavors,” said Rae.

Awakened Provisions’ gluten free cookies come in almond coconut, peanut butter hemp, and more, and Rae also sells granola in different flavors.

Take time to say hello to the Saturday Farmers Market’s new assistant manager, Jessica Amburgey. She lives in Grass Lake where she is a middle school teacher.

Amburgey and her husband have a four-year-old son Elias. Amburgey is part of the Community Engagement alliance in Washtenaw County to spread awareness about childhood allergies.

Saturday market vendors this season will include Brieland Shoultz Farm, Bordine Farms, Goetz Family Farm, Heim Gardens, Jacob’s Fresh Farm Shares, Kapnick Orchards, Lake Divide Farm, Merkel Gardens and Greenhouses, Tantré Farm, Two Tracks Acres, La Baguette, Lakehouse Bakery, Stone Hearth Bakery, Sweet & Salty (cookies), Raterman (sourdough bread), Fluffy Bottom Creamery, Para Para Creamery, H&H Sugarbush, LLC, Shoreline Wild Salmon, Affeathermations, Awakened Provisions, Bristle’s Handmade and Homegrown, Debbie’s Beads, Lavender and Honey Herbal Apothecary, Country Hills Pottery, Elderwoods, Hoppy Soap, Holdwick, Santa Rosa Watercolors, Smellz so Good (candles), Thistle Blossom Herbal, and Roaming Goat hot food.
