May 4: annual Heart & Sole Run, Walk and Kids Fun Run

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bobby Maldonado for the information in this story.)

St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea will sponsor the 30th annual Heart & Sole Run, Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, May 4 at Chelsea High School.

All proceeds from this year’s race will go towards helping expand and enhance the hospital’s tree-lined scenic walking paths with additional routes, lighting and signage.

These investments will help sustain the hospital campus as a safe haven for fitness and wellness for future patients and their families.

The Heart & Sole race will offer several options for this year’s participants including a 2-mile run/walk and a 5K run/walk.  Both are walker friendly and the routes are completely paved.

There will also be a 10k run on a new paved route, and a family-friendly kids fun run.

All races begin and finish in the Chelsea High School parking lot, located just off Trinkle Road.

Start Times:

  • 8:15 a.m. – Kids Fun Run
  • 8:30 a.m. – 10k and 5k
  • 9 a.m. – 2 Mile

Online registration for the race is currently open at www.chelseaheartandsole.org.

For most races, the registration fee for adults (14 years+) is $27 and $15 for youths (13 years and under).  Any child participating in the Kids Fun Run (10 and under) is only $12.

A late fee will be accessed for adult registrations received after 11 p.m. on May 1.
