May 4: Saturday Farmers Market opens at Palmer Commons

Expect fresh asparagus at the Farmers Market Saturday but get there early to find it.

By Lisa Carolin

Saturday is a big day for both the Chelsea Farmers Market and the City of Chelsea.

The new Palmer Commons is officially hosting its first event with the opening of Saturday’s market.

Be sure your hanging baskets some inside if it gets cold outside.

That’s a change from last year when the Saturday market took place in the municipal parking lot along Park Street. Palmer Commons is located at 222 South Main S.

The market’s hours will be from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. each Saturday.

Saturday market vendors this season will include:

Brieland Shoultz Farm, Bordine Farms, Goetz Family Farm, Heim Gardens, Jacob’s Fresh Farm Shares, Kapnick Orchards, Lake Divide Farm, Merkel Gardens and Greenhouses, Tantré Farm, Two Tracks Acres, La Baguette, Lakehouse Bakery, Stone Hearth Bakery, Sweet & Salty (cookies), Raterman (sourdough bread), Fluffy Bottom Creamery, Para Para Creamery, H&H Sugarbush, LLC, Shoreline Wild Salmon, Affeathermations, Awakened Provisions, Bristle’s Handmade and Handgrown, Debbie’s Beads, Lavender and Honey Herbal Apothecary, Country Hills Pottery, Elderwoods, Hoppy Soap, Holdwick, Santa Rosa Watercolors, Smellz so Good (candles), Thistle Blossom Herbal, and Roaming Goat hot food.
