Michelle Henderson joins UMRC as VP of human resources

United Methodist Retirement Communities, Inc. (UMRC) announced recently that Michelle Henderson has joined as vice president of human resources.

In her new role, Henderson will be responsible for managing UMRC’s team of human resource professionals in an effort to support all process and performance consulting services for staff.

Henderson brings more than two decades of experience in the health care industry. Prior to joining UMRC, she was most recently director of strategic workforce planning, analytics and human resource operations at University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, where she was responsible for leading the workforce planning, analytics, retention and recognition programs for the Health System in collaboration with human resources and operational leaders. In addition, she provided oversight on business operations. A certified senior human resource professional and an active member of the community,

Henderson serves as a Quality and Safety Advisory Committee volunteer at Mott Children’s Hospital and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
She earned her Master’s Degree in human resources and organizational development from Eastern Michigan University and her bachelor’s degree in human resource administration from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich.

She resides in Dexter.
