The Chelsea community is alive and well in the spirit of Christmas.
The Michigan Classics 14U Ouellette team made a special delivery to the North Pole this week.
Each year, this travel softball team based out of Chelsea, supports this amazing charity organization by volunteering to adopt children in need. The team raises the money on their own for gifts to fulfill children’s wish lists.
The players and their hard-working family members put in the hard work necessary by raking leaves last month in the community and were rewarded with generous donations.
The team is so grateful to these amazing Chelsea homeowners: The Ramseys, The Bokros, The Hullingers, and Mr. Durand.
All the donations were spent on presents for their adopted children. The team gathered once again at The Painted Owl in Grass Lake to wrap the gifts together and support this small business as well.
Police officers from area cities will now deliver the gifts to their final destinations to make for a magical Christmas.
This softball team continues to learn of the many acts of kindness that surround them and chooses to participate to make their community a better place.
Team members include: Tessa Baughman, Sam Dark, Charlotte and Piper Diesing, Madeline and Maggie McKale, MaKenzie Fredrickson, Abby Nieswender, Jenna Ouellette, Abby Rauser, Lexie Chapman and Emma Wiedmayer.
