National Weather Service issues wind chill advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory from 6 p.m. Sunday night until noon on Monday.

Expect very cold wind chills. The combination of winds and cold temperatures will produce wind chill readings of 15 to 20 below zero tonight through Monday morning throughout area of Southeast Michigan including Washtenaw County.

The cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

A wind chill advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
