New teachers introduced at Chelsea Board of Education meeting

Members of the Chelsea Board of Education were introduced to some of the new teachers who will be part of the 2013-14 district staff on Monday night, Aug. 26.

Georgia Rutherford of Madison, Wis., is already a familiar face at the high school since she was a student teacher last year.

Jason Murphy of Saline was hired as a Chelsea High School counselor.

Brittney Sleicher of Westville, IND., will be a special education teacher and she worked in the Chelsea schools as a long-term substitute.

Both Teddi Ewing and Andrea Hollandsworth will start the school year as new fifth-grade teachers at South Meadows. Ewing completed her student teaching at Pierce Lake Elementary in 2010 and Hollandsworth is from Chelsea, who was a long-term substitute parapro at South Meadows during the 2012-13 school year.In addition, new to the district are Alex Stacy and Jessica DeLand. Stacy will join the English department on the 6th and 8th grade blue teams. DeLand will teach on the 7th grade blue team.

Plus, Andrea Zapor will teach World Language 7 and French 1 courses.
