North Creek Elementary’s first and second grade classrooms recently received new books to add to their classroom libraries, which were purchased through a Chelsea Education Foundation grant.

Each teacher has a unique own way of “blessing” new books to get students excited to read.

Ms. Sleicher hosted a silent auction to build excitement about the new books being added to their library. She showed the cover of each book and offered a quick description, while students raised their hands hoping to be the first one chosen to read each new book.

Chelsea Education Foundation will host a fundraising Gala on March 16, which helps to raise funds for grants like these.
