Not just for kids: Chelsea Recreation offers adult sports, too

If you thought Chelsea Recreation is just for kids, think again.

Eric VanHevel, recreation director, says the rec department has a variety of adult programs this winter.

There’s men’s 30 & over drop-in basketball on Monday nights beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Washington Street Education Center gym at $5 per visit.

There’s co-ed drop-in volleyball on Monday nights at 8:30 p.m. at Beach Middle School for $5 per visit and women’s drop-in volleyball on Wednesday nights at 8:30 p.m. at Beach Middle School for $5 per visit.

In addition, there are adult dodgeball leagues on Sunday afternoons in two seasons. The season one runs from Jan. 13-Feb. 10 and season two begins Feb. 24 and runs through March 24. The cost is $175 per team.

  1. I’ve been going to the Women’s and Co-ed Volleyball for a few years now, and both are a lot of fun for those who want to play a good competitive game 🙂
