Oct. 13-14: 3rd annual Smoke and Ale Festival looking for BBQ contestants

Calling all BBQ contestants who would like to compete for $4,000 in prize money.

The third annual Smoke and Ale Festival presented by Lehman and Scheffler Real Estate Services and Smokehouse 52 BBQ on Oct. 13-14 is a Master Series Sanctioned Contest by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). KCBS sanctions BBQ and Grilling competitions across the U.S. and promotes barbecue as America’s cuisine. It is the largest society of barbecue enthusiasts in the world.

The sanctioned judging from KCBS will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14. In addition, there are all kinds of fun family events taking place. Please click here for a full list of sponsors and events that include 25 craft beers, live music, a kid’s area and a cornhole tournament. This is a Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce fundraiser that will take place rain or shine and there is a $5 admission fee but parking is free.
