On Saturday, Oct. 29, The Ragbirds, Ben Daniels Band, and JTW Trio, in conjunction with Chelsea-based, non-profit organization Project 418, will be performing a Halloween show to benefit Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
Project 418 operates an orphanage and vocational school in Cite Soleil, Haiti.
The performance will take place at Rancho Tranquilico (11300 Island Lake Road) in Dexter.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets ($20) are available at http://www.theragbirds.com, and ages 18+ are welcome.
There will be a costume contest, a bonfire, games, and prizes.
The Ragbirds are led by dynamic, energetic front woman and multi-instrumentalist Erin Zindle who utilizes an arsenal of instruments from around the world. The band is a fusion of folk rock and pop hooks over danceable world rhythms stirred with a Celtic fiddler’s bow. Zindle is joined by percussionist Randall Moore, guitarist TJ Zindle, drummer Jon Brown, and bassist Dan Jones.
Ben Daniels Band (BDB) has played numerous venues in Michigan, New York City, Washington D.C., and Nashville. The son of actor Jeff Daniels has quietly monitored what it takes to live life as an artist. Beyond a passed down talent, BDB believes in hard work, perseverance, and creatively challenging themselves and their audience. Daniels is joined by George Merkel on guitar, Tommy Reifel on bass, Wesley Fritzemeier on drums/mandolin, and Amanda Daniels on percussion/vocals.
Project 418, is a start-up 501 (c) 3, non-profit, solution-driven non-profit working with impoverished communities to develop relevant opportunities focused on creating sustainable change. Born out of our belief in helping real people with real need by working with them to come up with real solutions, Project 418 believes in combating poverty by working with communities to create locally operated initiatives that generate meaningful change.
