Oct. 5: Taste of Chelsea returns for 9th year (with slideshow)

The Taste of Chelsea is a popular local fundraising event sponsored by St. Mary Parish at 14200 E. Old US-12 that benefits St. Louis Center operations.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m.

The event receives tremendous support from the local community including 20 restaurants and coffee shops, and this year it will feature even more new entries, as four more establishments have joined in on the fun to bring the total to 24 vendors.

The new servers will include Albers Orchard Cider, Brahma House, Lakehouse Bakery, and a return of Zingerman’s Bakehouse.

Continuing supporters include; Arctic Breakaway, Big Boy, Chelsea Comfort Inn, Clear Lake Grill, Common Grill, Cottage Inn, Culver’s, Famous Rice Pudding – Fr. Bill Turner, Good Times Kettle Corn, Indian Brook Trout Farm, Indian Delights – Fr. Satheesh, Jiffy Mix, Los Tres Amigos, Mancino’s, Smokehouse BBQ 52, Stivers, Thompson’s Pizza, True North Jerky, Ugly Dog, Uptown Coney Island, and Zou Zou’s Café’.

Tickets for the event are $45 each, and can be purchased in the office at St. Mary Parish, or by contacting PR Director Joe Yekulis at St. Louis Center at 734-475-8430.

St. Louis Center is a residential care facility caring for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and has been in Chelsea since 1960.
