(Chelsea Update would like to thank Heidi M. Dailey for the information in this story.)
Patrick Dailey, a senior at Chelsea High School, recently learned that his entry – an excerpt from his comic/graphic novel “R’evolutions”– won a Gold Key Award at the 90th Annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
Gold Key Awards are the highest level of achievement at the regional level and winners are automatically considered for national-level recognition.
In addition, regional winners are celebrated at local ceremonies and have their work showcased in exhibitions, publications, and at public readings.
The Annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards date back to 1923.
Dailey will enter Eastern Michigan University in the fall enrolled in the Simulation, Animation, and Gaming Design program (SAG).
