Just when I thought I’d kicked the last vestiges of COVID, it reared up again … with added persistence and new and different pain — this time as extremely painful muscle spasms in my back for the beginning of last week, which sidelined me yet again.
As such, although I regularly Zoom into the Chelsea City Council meetings, I was in so much pain, I was incapable of doing so last Monday. The video of the meeting can be found on the city’s website top right side under meeting videos.
(And, if you are wondering why I just don’t write a story based on the video, it’s because I am an old school reporter. And yes, I did listen and watch the meeting this weekend. However, I was taught in journalism school if I wasn’t listening and watching in person, I wasn’t actually in attendance, and would be basing my reporting on second-hand information. That’s not how I was taught to cover a story. As old fashioned at it might sound. I’ve spent more than 40 years in the business, and I’m not changing how I report a story now. And to further clarify my stance, I’m not questioning the validity or the accuracy of the city’s video of the meeting.)
I welcome the start of December and the ho-ho-ho holiday season and wish everyone a very happy and healthy one.
