Publisher’s Message: Counting Down to Chelsea Update’s 10th Anniversary on July 23

Welcome to my version of gardening for my favorite little gems — the hummingbirds.

School’s out, summer plans are in full swing, and July 4 is around the corner.

Independence Day, (minus the fireworks) has always been a favorite holiday of mine. I rarely miss the traditional Chelsea American Legion chicken broil, which begins at 11 a.m.

Somehow during the years, I’ve been tagged as the designated chicken “picker-upper” as friends wait patiently at my house dreaming about the delicious meal that will soon arrive. Plus, I always meet the nicest people standing in line waiting for the meals to be boxed up.

Also on my July calendar this year is the 10th Anniversary of Chelsea Update on July 23. Yes, readers, I’ve been publishing Chelsea Update for you daily for almost 10 years, that’s thousands and thousands of stories and photos chosen just for you. But more on this momentous occasion in the future.

For now, I’d like to thank the following people (below) who supported my efforts and Chelsea Update in June by making non tax-deductable donations. It’s easy to do should you chose to contribute to my efforts and perhaps help me celebrate Chelsea Update’s 10th anniversary.

You can support my efforts through the donation button on the home page of Chelsea Update or by sending a check in any amount made out to Chelsea Update, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Reader support is so, so appreciated and assists with the ongoing operations of your daily Chelsea-centric news site.
