Publisher’s message: the thing I hate to do the most

In case you've missed it, Driver, one of my three dogs, has been frequenting the Bushel Basket Farmers' Market on Wednesdays. He's pictured here with Market Manager Ashley Miller-Helmholdt.

It’s been a while since I’ve written a Sunday column, so I’d like to start by sincerely thanking all the advertisers that are supporting Chelsea Update. Please let them know that you saw their ad on my site.

I can’t believe that I’m swiftly approaching my one-year anniversary in July. As this special date draws closer, I plan to run a little survey to get your opinions and ideas on any changes you’d like to see in my coverage.

But in the meantime, readers tell me they particularly enjoy the business features and reading all the positive, good news that’s taking place on a daily basis in Chelsea. Based on this feedback, I’ve been concentrating on that aspect of Chelsea life. Do you agree? Or have I gone too far down the happy trail?

What changes or improvements would you like to see? I’d love to hear from you. Please email me with your thoughts at [email protected].

With those questions asked, here it comes … the thing I hate to do most. I’m once again asking reader’s for donations toward my efforts. Everything you read here is written or edited by me. And, most of the photos are taken by me as well. I have no corporate backing. Nor do I have a trust fund. I’m trying to make a living doing what I love to do and hoping that I can make a living doing it.

Please consider making a donation to Chelsea Update in any amount. Think of it as a subscription. Or as a way to say thank you for all the hours I spend each week bringing you all the news that’s fit to print about Chelsea.

Checks should be made out to Chelsea Update and mailed to Lisa Allmendinger, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. Or, you can use Paypal as well.

And I thank you so much for your support.
