Never let it be said that there’s nothing to do in Chelsea on a Saturday in May.
And although I wish I could have gotten to all of the amazing events that took place yesterday, I was able to enjoy four of them.
What a fabulous day to enjoy the wildly successful Chelsea Area Garden Club Plant Sale at the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds — in a perfect new location. Tons of plants. Lots of visitors. Fabulously friendly parking attendants and club members. All in all, a terrifically planned and executed event. Way to go garden club.

From there, I headed to the Boy Scout Troop 425 flower sale in the parking lot of the Chelsea State Bank. Hill Top Greenhouse and Farms supplied the scouts with gorgeous baskets, which I’m sure made some Moms happy today. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you.
Then it was onto the Saturday Farmers’ Market where visitors were treated with not only a large number of vendors, but also beautiful music performed by the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. Plus, children had an opportunity to “pet” an instrument. What a delightful event for a picture perfect spring day.

Yesterday was also the Evening Primrose Garden Club’s annual rummage sale, the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Members transformed the inside of The Depot into a wonderland for bargain shoppers.
I just love all the fun things that Chelsea offers for residents and visitors alike, and it’s such fun to be able to report on as many of them as possible through words and photos. In case you missed these four events, or if you were there, I plan to run photo galleries throughout the week, so be sure to take a look for all the pretty pictures. Maybe you’re in one of them.
And, as much as I hate to do this, if you enjoy reading about what’s happening in Chelsea, please consider sending a donation of any amount to help me continue to provide you with all the news that’s fit to print about Chelsea. Checks should be made out to Chelsea Update and mailed to 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea, MI 48118. You can also donate via Paypal from the site.
