Purple Rose Theatre plans special fundraiser on New Year’s Eve

The Purple Rose Theatre Company will host a New Year’s Eve Party as a fundraiser for the non-profit theatre on Dec. 31.

The event will begin at the Village Conference Center and will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from around the world, and close-up magic with Stuart MacDonald.

There will also be a sneak-preview performance of The Meaning of Almost Everything, a world premiere comedy by Jeff Daniels. It’s slated to premiere at the theatre in January 2013 and features actors Matthew Gwynn and Michael Brian Ogden.

This is will be followed by dinner and transportation to the Purple Rose.

At 8 p.m., guests will see the final performance of Jeff Daniels: Onstage & Unplugged, with special guests Brad Phillips, Jed Fritzemeier, The Ben Daniels Band and Luc “The Roadie” Daniels.

The evening will end with a celebratory champagne toast at 10:30 p.m., and transportation back to the Village Conference Center.

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Party are $250, a portion of which is tax-deductible.
