SRSLY held its 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Party at Beach Middle School and more than 500 children and families from Chelsea and surrounding communities attended.

They enjoyed live music from local teen bands as well as a dance presentation from the Youth Dance Theatre of Michigan.

Partygoers swam in the pool, played in the open gym, voted in the chili cook-off, created party hats, danced to a DJ mixing music, decorated cookies, enjoyed group games, and played video games projected onto smartboards.

“The party would not have been the success that it was without such broad community support,” said Jesse Kauffman, SRSLY program coordinator in a press release.

“The many business sponsors and overflow of volunteers made it clear that this community cares about helping kids have substance-free fun.”

The party was sponsored by: Chelsea Area Players, Chelsea Lanes, Chelsea Milling Co., Chelsea Orthodontics, Chelsea Rotary Club, Chelsea Wellness Center, Cole Funeral Chapel, Ellie’s Chocolate Café, Raymond Howe DDS, Jack & Son Barber Shop, Jet’s Pizza, Meijer, Mike’s Deli, The Potting Shed, Reed’s Barbering, Total Smiles Dental Group, Uptown Coney Island, and Vogel’s & Foster’s.
