Andrew Jacob “Andy” Kargel of Saline, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 13, 2014.
He was born on April 6, 1979, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Kieran “Kerry” and Glenna (Kraai) Kargel. On June 21, 2003, he married Rebekah Anne Knight in Chelsea and she survives.
Andy had a larger than life personality and could light up a room. He loved to have a good time, was great with a joke or prank, and enjoyed cars, sports, and anything fun, fast, and thrilling. Andy was a teacher for the Linden School District. He loved his students and made every one of them feel important. He was a friend to so many, would help anyone, and could fix anything with a motor.
Donald Lee Olson of Chelsea, formerly of East Jordan, Mich., age 83, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at home with his family.
He was born March 25, 1930 in East Jordan, Michigan, the son of Ingwald and Mabel (Maddocks) Olson.
On Oct. 13, 1955, he married Margaret Jane Scott in Petoskey, and she survives. Donald was in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict, where he was an airplane mechanic and instructor.
He attended Cal. Aero. Tech. Donald installed elevators for 35 years, working for several companies including OTIS and Haughton-Schindler. He was a member of the VFW in Iron River. Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing at his home on the Jordan River.
