Recent obituaries: Joel Morrison, Nancy Richards, Mary Janet Peltcs

Morrison,-Joel-webJoel P. Morrison of Addison, Michigan, age 58, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013. He was born on March 12, 1955 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Harold and Gloria (Phillips) Morrison.

He had lived on Silver Lake in the Addison area for the past 16 years, moving from Ann Arbor. Joel worked as a High Voltage electrician for the University of Michigan for the past 27 years. He was a member of the Local 252 IBEW for 34 years.

He loved to fish, play guitar, golf, travel, and spend time with his family and friends. He was also involved with Silver Lake acting as a trustee for the Silver Lake Association where he was in charge of stocking the fish for the lake.

 

Nancy A. Richards of Chelsea, Michigan, age 78, passed away at her home on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013. She was born Sept. 28, 1935 in Plymouth, MI, the daughter of Edward and Donna (Finnegan) Richards.

Nancy had lived in the area for the past 23 years, moving from Texas. She had worked for American Airlines in Customer Service for over 35 years. Nancy was an energetic, compassionate and empathetic person who would assist any traveler on their journey. She had a verve, a style, a panache. Adversity was no match for her.

 

Peltcs,-Mary-croppedMary Janet Crego Peltcs of Dexter, MI, age 91, of Dexter, Michigan passed away Dec. 30, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1922, the daughter of Owen C and Helen Rosanna (Clow) Crego in Aurora, Illinois.
Mary attended White School, a one room country school in Wheatland Township, C M Bardwell in Aurora and graduated with honors from East Aurora High School.  She was active in debate, theater, and played violin in orchestra. As a young child, she enjoyed her time at the Crego farm on Lake Street in North Aurora and with her grandparents on their farm in Wheatland Township.
