Rev. Allen J. Lewis of Chelsea, age 97, died Jan. 1, 2015 at his home in Chelsea Retirement Community after a short illness.
He was born Oct. 4, 1917 in Toledo, OH, the son of Bradley and Ellen (Franks) Lewis.
Allen moved to Chelsea in 1998 after a long career as a United Methodist minister, high school English teacher, and farmer. He was an active leader in Boy Scouts for many years and received the Wood Badge and Silver Beaver award. He enjoyed the outdoors, baseball and softball, church camp, and spent many summers at the cabin he built on Spider Lake near Traverse City, MI.

Elizabeth (Brown) Sodt of Manchester died Jan. 1, 2015 in Tecumseh at the age of 91.
She was born the daughter of Albert and Louise (King) Brown on Dec. 11, 1923 in Redford, Michigan.
On Sept. 21, 1947 she married Louis Dean Sodt and he preceded her in death. She enjoyed camping with her husband in their trailer. She was an avid card player and enjoyed the game of bridge and also playing the penny slots at the casino. Growing up near Detroit, she enjoyed watching the Tigers. She was a nurse for over 40 years starting at Foote Hospital where she met her husband and finishing with 15 years of service at Chelsea Hospital.
