Barbara Jean Fisher of Ann Arbor and Novi, age 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019.
Barbara was born Aug. 3, 1949 in Harper Woods, MI, the daughter of Robert T. and Dorothy M. (Dyar) Fisher.
Barbara received her B.S. and M.A degrees in Education from Eastern Michigan University. A lifelong educator, state certified since 1971, Barbara taught at Whitmore Lake Public Schools and Chelsea School District including elementary, middle school and alternative high school focusing on special education programs.
After retiring from Chelsea School District, Barbara returned to her love of teaching at COPE Alternative School.
According to Barbara’s wishes she was cremated and in honor of her love for a great social event, the family will be having a Celebration of Life at Zingerman’s Greyline, 100 N Ashley St., Ann Arbor on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 1-4 p.m. All are welcome to attend this event including family, friends, former colleagues and former students with a close bond to Mrs. Fisher.
