Recent obituary: Bernard Lee BeGole

BeGole,-Bernard-webBernard Lee BeGole of Chelsea, age 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his home with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1945, in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Lee and Helen (Schmid) BeGole. He had lived in the area for nearly all of his life, moving from Ann Arbor to Chelsea in the late 1970’s.

Barney served in the United States Air Force from 1967-1971 as an Aircraft Mechanic. Upon returning from Vietnam, he began his career as a prototype machinist working for Sarns/3M for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2000.

In his retirement, he spent two years in Alaska with family and enjoyed traveling to Whittier from Anchorage. Why? Just for the halibut. Upon his return to Chelsea he enjoyed carpentry as well as working in the yard with his Deere and caring for his critters. Barney was a strong, Christian man who was not ashamed of his love for the Lord. Above all, his favorite pastime was simply spending time with his daughter and her family. Nothing made him light up like hearing his name “Daddy” and “Granddaddy” come from his girls.
