Betty Mida, age 90, died peacefully on April 14,2016 at Angela Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her family.
She was the daughter of David and Viola (Hausrath) Cooper and was born on Feb. 12, 1926 in Lincoln Park, Mich. Betty married her loving husband, Herbert, in 1946, and he preceded her in death following 61 years of marriage.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Esken, and her brother, David (Shirley) Cooper. Also surviving are her four loving children, Robert (Nancy) Mida, Sandra (Roger) Fry, William (Karen) Mida, and Lynn Mida. She adored her eight grandchildren, Rodney (Theresa) Fry, Todd Fry, Jason (Kimberly) Mida, Robert Mida Jr., Julia (Nate) Hinderer, Tamara (Joseph) Kennedy, Amber Mida, and Erik Mida. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Ella, and Samuel, and a fourth great-grandchild is expected.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church inBelleville, and was active in the Astral #250 Rebekah Lodge of Belleville. She also did volunteer work at U of M Hospital while raising her children.
A funeral service will be held at Brown’s Funeral Home in Belleville on Monday, April 18 at 11 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2-8 p.m.
