Gary D. Ferry “Pepa”, 70, of Chelsea, passed away peacefully at home, loved and surrounded by family on May 18, 2016.
Born on June 19, 1945 in Ann Arbor, MI to Russell F. and Clara B. Ferry, Gary was the youngest of 4 children. Gary spent his childhood working on his family’s farm on Waterloo Road in Chelsea. He was a 1963 Graduate of Chelsea High School. After High School, while serving in the National Guard for six years, he worked as the day shift foreman at Central Fibre in Chelsea, for 20 years, until its closing.
Gary was also employed in the Skilled Maintenance department of Washtenaw Community College for 20 years, where he retired in 2007.
Gary loved to hunt, farm, and work on old vehicles and tractors with his son.
On August 20, 1966 he married Judy Kay Hadley of Chelsea in Hell, MI. Both Gary and Judy were looking forward to celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year.
Cremation has taken place, per his wishes. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
