Recent obituary: Joan L. Craft (Piatt)

Joan L. Craft (Piatt), age 65, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019 at her home in Jackson after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Stockbridge in 1954 and resided for the majority of her life in Waterloo.

In the earlier part of her life, Joan was an active member of the Chelsea VFW Post 4076 Women’s Auxiliary and served as its president in 1975. She loved to travel and made two memorable trips to both Alaska and Germany.

Most of all she loved just being with her family and friends and could always be found at one of her many grand kids’ events, volunteering through her church, running the kids craft booth at Nite Lights, or hosting events at Home Depot.

Celebration of life for Joan will be at the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (UCC) on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. at the church, 120 North Jackson St., Jackson. There will be lunch right after the service at the church.

Visitation hours with the family will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 and before the ceremony on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
