Margaret Jane (Doyle) Smith of Chelsea, age 72, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at the U of M Hospital.
She was born Aug. 12, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Frederick J. and Winifred L. (Thornton) Doyle.
Margaret graduated from St. Thomas High School in Ann Arbor in 1966. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea. Margaret was a happy mother and homemaker who enjoyed her mystery novels. She raised 5 kids, and enjoyed her 5 grandkids.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 19, 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, with the V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Chelsea. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 a.m. before the funeral.
