Registration open for the Fall 2019 Citizens Police Academy

(Publisher’s note: Chelsea Police Department does not have a similar program and suggests that people who might be interested in law enforcement attend this free program.)

The Citizens Police Academy is designed to give you a behind the scenes, in-depth look into the everyday happenings of the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

The goal is to make this course an informative and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. It’s our opportunity to share what we do and how we do it. You’ll meet command staff, learn how traffic stops are made, take a tour of the jail, meet our K-9 and Mounted members, learn how to process a crime scene, make an arrest, and much more.

If you are interested in attending the Fall 2019 WCSO Citizens Police Academy please complete the application and release forms (below) and return to Deputy Wion at [email protected] by July 28.

  1. I am most interested in this program and would like to enroll. Please email me an application to enroll. There are also several young people in my neighborhood and I would like to help these youngsters understand a bit about police work

    • You can also click on the email address for the deputy in charge of the program that is in the story or go to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office website and print a form from there.
