The Kiwanis Club of Chelsea and Cole Funeral Chapel will host Chelsea’s Halloween Costume judging contest at Cole Funeral Chapel parking lot on Oct. 31, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Cider and donuts will be provided, and there will also be a Jack ‘O Lantern contest again this year.
The time has been changed to allow judging before trick-or-treating and games. Participants will go to their area for judging starting at 5:30, and we hope to announce winners and take photos starting at 5:50 p.m.
For the costume judging, categories will be 5 years and under, 6-8 years, 9-12 years, 13-18 years, and groups. In each category, first and second place will be chosen for Best Costume and Most Original. All contestants will receive a participant ribbon.
For the Jack ‘O Lantern contest, please bring your completed pumpkin to the funeral home parking lot by 5:30 pm, and it must stay on display until 6:30 p.m. There will not be age groups for the pumpkins so children, teens, adults, and families are welcome to enter their pumpkins. Carved pumpkins or painted pumpkins are acceptable.
First place will receive a $25 cash prize, second prize will receive $15, and third prize will receive $10.
