(Chelsea Update would like to thank Matthew Millar for the information and photos in this story.)

Greetings to all this holiday season,

As the holidays slide past us like a child on a fast sled down a hill, I have come to appreciate the excitement and warm reception that we, at Renovatio Woodworks, have received from the community.

People that make it up the stairs to our store and see what creations we have assembled from vintage barn wood and other treasures are surprised, impressed, and filled with a feeling of delight.

To see an old barn door with scratches and marks from animals – all cleaned up and turned into a beautiful functional piece of wood-working has an effect that you don’t expect.

Repurposing is not only good for the environment, but also has quickly established itself as an in-demand and sought-after product in many forms — from wall art to functional wood furniture.

I have always believed that if you make something, it should serve a useful purpose.

Chelsea business owners, I’d like to offer the use of one of our pieces in your store. It’s my way to thank the community and to spread the word about the value and beauty of what we do, create, and the philosophy of repurposing.

I’ve included pictures of pieces you might consider as a complimentary asset to your store.

Sincerely,

Matthew Millar of Renovatio Woodworks

  1. Thank you Pat. Next week at the store, I will be re-introducing an old favorite of mine. They are one-of-a-kind, retro style 1960s bird houses with the space age look. They will be in the store on this Friday, Jan. 3. We are located above Smokehouse 52 BBQ. Stop on by. Best regards, Matthew Millar
