Sisters Kimber Sipperly and Shannon Krug have attended Wine, Women & Shopping for the last five years.

“It’s a special sisters day out,” Shipperly said, of the Chelsea event that’s been ongoing for the last seven years.

Found shopping in Chelsea Antiques, the sisters said that the store was one of their many favorites in Chelsea.

“We’re big fans of Alta’s (Brown), this is a great place to find that special gift,” Krug said, adding that the finds in the antique shop are always unique. “She has really good treats, too.”

The two Chelsea residents said they enjoyed finding “unique treasures” when they shop in Chelsea.

“We’re huge supporters of shopping locally,” Sipperley said, adding that what’s special about Chelsea is the diversity of stores, where they can find gifts for all ages from grandparents to children to coworkers.

“We love the Farmers’ Market, Farmer’s Supply, the Potting Shed, Bumbles, Mule Skinner, Shabby Chic, the Chelsea Market, Ellie’s Chocolates, Zou Zou’s, Back to the Roots and Just Imagine,” Krug said.

The sisters also said they planned to have a special lunch together at Common Grill. “It’s a tradition,” Krug said.

In fact, about 30 businesses and restaurants took part in the event that celebrates shopping and participating stores were marked by red-and-white balloons.

There were free chair massages, goodies and treats, store specials and wine tastings, entertainment, drawings for gift baskets and demonstrations as part of the special event.
