This is the time of year to load up on all your favorite fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as flowers and baked goods.

The Chelsea Wednesday Farmers Market runs from 1-5 p.m. at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot, 1010 S. Main St., near the corner of Old US-12 and M-52.

Peaches won’t be available for much longer, but plums, pears, apples, and raspberries abound.

So do tomatoes and peppers, corn and zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, green beans and more.

Fresh baked breads, cookies, and cakes will also be for sale.

There is a regional (Chelsea, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge) food assistance program to help get healthy market food on the tables of those in need. It’s aimed at folks who don’t quite meet SNAP criteria. Be sure to inquire at the market.

To learn more about what to expect each week at the farmers markets, visit the website at www.chelseafarmersmkt.org, visit the Chelsea Farmers Market Facebook page, or e-mail [email protected].
