Sign up now for Dec. 21-23 Community Center Days

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Melissa Johnson for the information in this story.)

Community Center Days will take place at the Washington Street Education Center on Dec. 21-23 from 1-6 p.m. where participants of all ages can enjoy holiday movies, open gym, Trivia Smackdown, Wii games and Tai Chi and other fun activities.

Parents and grandparents, do you still have wrapping to do and cards to write? A room, and some materials, is being provided for gift wrapping and there will be plenty of space for card writing, knitting and other Christmas projects.

The cost is $20 per family for all three days (the cost is inclusive; there are no additional fees for classes or activities) with advance registration at the Community Education website.

The daily at the door rate is $10/family.

For a complete and updated list of activities, please see the community center’s Facebook page.

The event is being sponsored by an exploratory committee, comprised of representatives from the school district, the City of Chelsea, the Chelsea Senior Center, SRSLY and local residents and businesses, which is working toward conducting a formal feasibility study for a community center within the year. The goal is to create a central place where people of all ages can come and enjoy recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities year round.

We hope that you will join us and share your ideas about what you would like to see in a community center where you live.
