Silver Maples of Chelsea looking for volunteers

Silver Maples of Chelsea is looking for adult and teen volunteers who enjoy working with seniors and Silver Maples staff.

Cece Keiser, Maples Club and volunteer coordinator, said that volunteering at Silver Maples is fun and rewarding.

“Our volunteers help in so many ways,” she says in the press release. “Sometimes it’s calling Bingo or sharing travel stories or sometimes it’s helping with projects like retyping song sheets or making copies of newsletters and then distributing or taking walks with or reading to residents. There’s always something to do.”

Keiser said that teen volunteers need to be a least 14 years of age.  Proof of community service can be provided, too, for those who are required to perform service as part of their middle school or high school requirements.

All volunteers are asked to commit to at least three hours a week. Training and a tour of the community is provided.

Volunteer applications can be picked up at Silver Maples, online by clicking here, or by utilizing Chelsea’s new volunteer portal by clicking here.

Silver Maples is a not-for-profit retirement community whose mission is to provide opportunities for seniors to continue actively building their lives on their own terms, growing, aging well and connecting with our community.
