Jazz and mimosas made for a smooth combination at Silver Maples of Chelsea First Annual Summer Breezin’ Jazz & Champagne Brunch on Sunday, July 21.

For $18, there was an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, including made-to-order omelets by Chef Tom Zigman.

The featured jazz quartet, Equinox, played a perfect mix of classics from the Great American Songbook while I chatted with the residents. My tablemates all gave high marks to the Silver Maples’ staff and community.

I learned about Wii bowling (Wednesdays at 1 p.m.), the movie scheduled for later that day (“The Great Gatsby” with Robert Redford), and who the bridge sharks were.

Since the event was titled “First Annual,” I look forward to future mimosas.

And, I can highly recommend Equinox for your next party, wedding, or corporate event. You will not be disappointed. To learn more about the group, contact bassist and Event Jazz! owner Rob Crozier here.
