Noel Thomas Brown, Jr.
Of Dexter Twp., Michigan

Age 50, died on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013. He was born on April 3, 1963 in Dearborn, Michigan, the son of Noel T. and Delores (Miller) Brown, Sr.

He had lived in the area since 2000, coming from Ypsilanti, and was the owner of Noel T. Brown Custom Homes Inc. for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and could fix anything. He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Ann Arbor and also the Homebuilders Society.

On Sept. 28, 1991, he married Melissa L. Connell in Ann Arbor and she survives. Also surviving are his mother Delores Theisen of Belleville; three daughters: Brittany Brown, Chelsea Brown, and Megan Brown, all of Dexter; and his father-in-law Bruce (Amy) Connell of Chelsea and mother-in-law Vicki (Richard) Geiss of Chelsea. He was preceded in death by his father, his step-father Leon Theisen, his aunt Virginia Sharon, and his brother-in-law Michael Connell.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, with Rev. Kathy Schell officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to an educational fund for his daughters.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

 

Kennedy, Michael webMichael Dale Kennedy
of Manchester, Michigan

Age 61, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.  He was born on May 13, 1952 in Geneva, New York, the son of Dale G. and Bette Kennedy.

Michael had lived in the area for over 30 years, coming from Garden City.  On November 3, 1979 he married Marikay Nolan in Dearborn, Michigan. Mike began driving truck at the age of sixteen and, in 1976, founded a trucking company with his father. He was very supportive of his employees and they became part of his family.  Mike enjoyed cars, all types of music, and was an avid gardener. Most of all, “Papa” adored spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Megan (Dave) Haight of Ypsilanti, Michael Ryan (Allison) Kennedy of White Lake, and Mac Kennedy of Manchester; three grandchildren: David Michael, Madison Marie, and Michael Dennis; his parents, Dale and Bette Kennedy of Manchester; and his brother Scott (Merrilee) Hill-Kennedy of Big Rapids.

A Gathering of Friends and Time of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
