(Chelsea Update would like to thank Amythyst Romero for the information in this story. These two awards are the highest honors bestowed on community residents. Please take the time to nominate deserving folks because there are a lot of them out there.)

The Citizen of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Awards are some of the most important awards our community can bestow upon our residents.

We all have very busy schedules and great demands on our personal time. However, I would encourage you to take a step back from the day to day activities and spend a few moments looking at our community. Ask the question, “Who do I know that has done something special,” or, “who do I know that has helped me personally, or contributed to the well-being of our community?”

Nominees should come from all walks of life and should not be limited to those in the business community. We have had private citizens, community and business leaders win this award in the past.

Chelsea is blessed with a wealth of residents who are committed and dedicated to serving our community. In many cases, these individuals go about performing their tasks without any fanfare. It is not only appropriate to honor these individuals but it is the right thing to do! We can only do this with your help.

We are very excited to have Rick Taylor of Reinhart Realtors as the 2016 Citizen of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Banquet sponsor and, with your help, we are confident we will see an array of nominees again this year.

Nominees do not have to be chamber members.

Nomination deadline is July 22.

Forms can be found by going to the following link on www.chelseamichamber.org and in the chamber lobby.
