There have now been two reports of the new recycling bins being stolen from Chelsea residents.
Frank Hammer, chairman of the Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority board, said every container has a serial number on it. So, WWRA is now asking residents to record the serial numbers from their new recycling containers and keep the number in a safe place.
Should your recycling bin disappear, contact WWRA with the number, and crews can check on recycling days for that serial number.
