There is a vacancy on the seven-member Chelsea City Council due to the resignation of Jim Myles who sold his business and home and plans to move out of the state.
So, the City Council is accepting applications until Feb. 22. Please refer to the attached guide to understand the appointment process and key dates.
An information session will be held during next City Council meeting on Feb. 16 it the City Council Chambers of the new Municipal Building, 311 S. Main St.
You must be a resident of the City of Chelsea and registered to vote to apply. (Refer to the City Charter, Chapter III, Section 3.3 for additional qualifications for City Council members.)
The City Council will choose from the applicant pool and the appointee will serve through the next council election in November, 2017.
